The National Transport Authority (NTA), in partnership with GRAHAM Construction, wishes to advise the public of upcoming site investigation works as part of the BusConnects Dublin Ballymun/Finglas to City Centre Core Bus Corridor Scheme.
The works will take place on the North Circular Road between Doyle’s Corner and the junction with Berkeley Road, as well as on a section of Royal Canal Bank adjacent to Phibsboro Library. The investigations will be carried out in short sections and all affected areas will be fully reinstated on completion.
Work Schedule
The site investigation works are scheduled to take place from Saturday 15 August 2026 to Sunday 23 August 2026 during the following hours:
- Saturday 15 August to Sunday 16 August: 9.00am to 11.00pm
- Monday 17 August to Friday 21 August: 7.30am to 11.00pm
- Saturday 22 August to Sunday 23 August: 9.00am to 11.00pm
Traffic Management
To facilitate the works safely, temporary traffic management measures will be in place on the North Circular Road from Saturday 15 August to Sunday 23 August 2026.
During this period, traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the works area. Road users are advised to allow additional time for their journeys and follow all temporary signage and traffic management instructions.
Temporary Bus Stop Relocations
Bus Stops 81 and 82 may be temporarily relocated during the works. Clear signage will be provided to direct passengers to the temporary bus stop locations where required.
Royal Canal Bank Road Closure
A temporary road closure will be in place on Royal Canal Bank, from its junction with North Circular Road to the rear of Phibsboro Library, between Saturday 15 August and Sunday 23 August 2026.
Access to Royal Canal Bank will continue to be available via Phibsborough Road throughout the duration of the works.
