As of February 2025, the BusConnects programme has announced its new partnership with Dublin City FM’s morning and evening radio show, Live Drive. The partnership marks a new chapter in the BusConnects journey, highlighting the need to connect with commuters and drivers across the city.
With BusConnects Dublin set to begin work on the first two Schemes in the Liffey Valley to City Centre and Ballymin/ Finglas to City Centre in the coming summer, the collaboration will provide real time updates on roadworks, traffic changes, and project progress directly to affected road users.
Live Drive airs Monday through Friday six hours per day. With two shows airing from 7am to 10am, and from 4pm until 7pm, the show is a commuter staple for those looking for the most accurate and timely traffic updates around Dublin City.
Brian Commins, CEO of Dublin City FM welcomed the partnership.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome BusConnects as a partner for our flagship, Live Drive shows. Our breakfast and Drivetime programs are all about ensuring our listeners have the most accurate and up to the minute travel information to get them where they need to go quickly and safely. With Bus Connects changes and redesigns, enhanced bus systems and improved cycling and pedestrian facilities, it’s the perfect opportunity for us to help communicate any developments and changes as they unfold.’’
Grainne Mackin, BusConnects Communications Director, emphasised the importance of direct communication with road users.
“We know that roadworks and changes can be challenging for all public, both people who live in the community and those who travel in and around the areas.
“By working with Live Drive, we can work to ensure that Dublin’s residents, drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport users get timely and accurate information to help them plan their journeys with confidence.”
